William " Bill" Shields

William “Bill” Shields passed away at home, suddenly, the morning of September 18, 2018.  Age 58.   A 26 year resident of Pleasant Ridge, Bill loved his home and his pets, and his late-in-life career as a baker at Fresh Market in Oakley.  Bill was an extremely generous man who made people around him feel loved and special.  Bill is survived by his partner of 35 years, Rick Dorton, loving parents Frank and Barbara Shields, sisters Holly (Mike) Lane and Emily Shields, five nieces, one nephew and numerous other family and friends.  There will be a visitation and short service for Bill’s family and friends at the Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Road, Norwood from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.  A celebration of Bill’s life has been planned at the Norwood American Legion Hall, 5129 Montgomery Road, immediately following the visitation, from 7 to 10 P.M.
