William P, Sr. left this world on May 5th, to join his wife, Jean and his daughter Becky who preceded him in death. Bill was born in Geneva, IL on December 1, 1921 to Charles and Dorothy Clark. He grew up in Wheaton IL, graduated from Purdue and then went directly into the Army Officer Training at Fort Leonard Wood. While there, he met the love of his life, Norma Jean Nowell, at Columbia College, and they were married in September 1945 as soon as he returned from the European Theater of WWII. Upon being released from the Army, Bill joined Cincinnati Milling Machine Company as an apprentice. He worked there for 36 years in a variety of sales roles, culminating in Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the machine tool group. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He and Jean had five children, Bill Jr., Chuck, Becky, John and Jeff. Each married and made Bill a grandfather 9 times, and a great-grandfather 7 times. Bill is survived by his four sons and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home at 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, OH from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A second celebration will be held on the morning of July 19 in St. Augustine FL at St. Anastasia Catholic Church where he will be interred in their columbarium next to his beloved wife, Jean. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to our parent's favorite charity, Catholic Charities of St. Augustine, Florida.
