Virginia Rigney

RIGNEY, Virginia Elize "Ginger" (nee Osberg), beloved wife of the late Harry (Wilson) Rigney for 67 years of marriage. Loving mother to James (Linda) and Janette. Grandmother to Elizabeth (Chris), Raymond, and Virginia (Bradley). Great grandmother to Jonathan, Mallory and Molly.

Virginia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the age of 92, surrounded by family.

She was born to Carl Wilhelm and Maria Teresa Osberg on March 1st, 1929. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and grandparent who spent her life caring for others. Her compassion, kindness and caring heart were understood by all who knew her. Virginia served on the recreation commission for the Village of Woodlawn, Ohio. She initiated the construction of multiple baseball fields. She also established the Village’s first Girl Scout Troop and was an active leader in the Northern Kentucky Weekday School of Religion (Disciples of Christ). Virginia loved cheering for her grandchildren at swim meets, cooking amazing family meals, and caring for her family. The centers of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will occur at Christ Church Glendale, 965 Forest Ave., Glendale, OH 45246 on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at the same location immediately following visitation a 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice.

Per the request of the family, masks are required for those attending the services.
