Thomas (Tommy) D. Neal, Jr. is survived by his wife, Jo Ann (Jones) Neal; his children, Ally (Tony) Espelage, Aron Neal, and Ashley Neal; granddaughter, Taylor Cunningham, and two other granddaughters who preceded him in death. He also leaves his parents, Thomas and Alberta Neal, Sr.; and four siblings, Dale (Lori) Neal, Howie (Lari) Neal, Crissy Neal, and Scotty (Stacy) Neal; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Tommy was a man who loved hard, worked hard and played hard. His passion, determination, and success were evident in all aspects of his life: his work, his faith, and his lifelong baseball and softball careers. When Tommy was no longer able to play, he regularly attended his children's sporting events and enjoyed watching them continue to grow and succeed. There was nothing he loved more than his family, and he gave everything he had to provide for them. He was most proud of his children and all their varying accomplishments.
Tommy was blessed to make many good friends over the years, whether it be on the field, at work, or in the church. He was a man who truly loved with his whole heart, and when you needed something he would move mountains to help you. His friends will carry memories of fun and laughter with him, and it's these memories he would want you to remember and cherish. You all have stories. Keep telling them, maybe with a tear in your eye but always with a smile on your face. That's what he wanted for you.
Along with great memories, he leaves behind a legacy of a strong work ethic, passion, determination, and faith in God. Tommy had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior early in life, and God called him home on May 8, 2014 at the age of 56. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Origins Church, 9145 Cincinnati Columbus Road, West Chester, Ohio, 45069. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Origins in Tommy Neal, Jr.'s honor.
