HINKLE, Thomas E. Passed away peacefully at his home in Springdale, OH on May 16, 2015, with his family by his side. He was 68. Thomas is survived by Sarah (nee Clawson) Hinkle, his loving wife of 46 years; his mother Mary (nee Pierson) Hinkle; his children, Robert (Jaime) Hinkle and Heather (Eric) Baldwin; his beloved grandchildren Zachary, Megan, and Emma Hinkle, Cade Baldwin, and Connor and Carson Curran; his sisters Linda Brindise and Wendy Deal; his sister-in-law Nancy (Mike) Rapp; his nieces Karen Berzins and Jennifer Hewitt, and his nephews Joel Rapp, Dale, and Greg Brindise, and Jeffrey, Michael and Ryan Deal. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Hinkle.
Thomas was born September 23, 1946 in Cincinnati. He graduated from Bowling Green State University, where he met his wife Sarah. They married on August 3, 1968. After graduation, he served in the army for two years, then taught kindergarten for Princeton City Schools for many years.
After retirement, Tom worked at the Bicycle Museum of America, and he shared his love for bicycles by speaking at events all over the country. He actively served his church and supported its Community Youth Group. He had many passionate interests and lived his life to the fullest.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, 45246. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church Glendale, 155 E. Fountain Ave., Glendale, OH 45246. Thomas will be buried in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tom's memory to be made to First Presbyterian Church, Glendale, 155 E. Fountain Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45246.
