Suzanne Carnahan

CARNAHAN, Suzanne (nee Goode).

From the Great Depression to the Pandemic Oppression, Suzanne Goode Carnahan lived 90 years to see planes fly, men walk on the moon, the world wide web and technology abundance.  But she cared most about her family, friends and faith.

Born on July 8, 1931 to Ruby Helen (Staley) and Loran Eford Goode, she and her older sister, Rosemary Pace (Goode) grew up in the farmland of Bicknell, Indiana.  Raised in the Disciples of Christ Christian church, she married Jack French Carnahan on March 25, 1951.  Of that marriage were born Douglas Brian Carnahan (Gail Ball), Debra Lynn Carnahan and Gregory Alan Carnahan (Jean).   Love comes at all ages as she found it again with Patrick Anthony Cioffi and they married at the age of 82 on August 24, 2013.  She welcomed stepsons Michael Cioffi (Rachael Rowe) and Tony Cioffi (Amy).  She also welcomed many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews from all of the families and loved them all as her own.

Suzanne (Sue, Suzie) worked from age five in her uncle’s ice cream parlor, then in the First National Bank of Bicknell and eventually over 20 years as the Office Manager for Value City Department Store in Springdale, Ohio.

She passed into God’s arms after several years of dementia on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  We will honor her earthly and eternal life on Wednesday, October 13 at the Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home – Springdale, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, OH 45246 at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be held beginning at 4:00 p.m. before the service. Suzanne will be laid to rest on the following day at the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery in Indiana.
