Shirley Philley

PHILLEY, Shirley (Hanaford)

Age 91, of Hamilton, formerly of Greenhills, passed away on January 15, 2019, at Westover Retirement Community.  She was born May 8, 1927 in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Marjorie and Earl Hanaford. She was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School, and also Otterbein College, and the University of Cincinnati.  In September 1954 she married William Philley, who preceded her in death in 2005.  She is survived by their six children Randall Philley, Carolyn (Randall) Griffith, Marilyn Baldwin, Paul Philley, James (Phyllis) Philley, and Beth Philley; Cherished grandchildren Michael, Erik, Allison, Andrew, Joseph, Robert, James, and William; and delightful great-grandchildren Cameron, Corey, Cristian, Kaylee, Carter, and Mace. Also survived by several nieces and a nephew. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert (Donna) Hanaford, and sister Jeanne Tiberghein. Shirley enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, volunteering, and times with family and friends. Memorial services will be held on January 26, 2019 at 11AM at Greenhills Community Church Presbyterian, 21 Cromwell, Greenhills, OH  45218.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westover Retirement Community, 855 Stahlheber Hamilton, Ohio 45013 or to the Church.
