Robert D., beloved husband of the late Janet Thirkield; devoted father of Nancy Thirkield, Margaret "Peggy" (Jonathan) Brinkman, and Jane (David) Wong; loving grandfather of Corey, Ryan (Katherine), and Christopher Brinkman and great grandfather of Caleb and Titus Brinkman; dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two sisters. Robert passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at the age of 90. He was a member and past president of the Greenhills Kiwanis, flew for Air Life Line, and was a long standing member and officer for The Quiet Birdmen (a pilot organization). Friends may call at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice or to Maple Knoll Bodmann Hospice.
