Robert Murray

Robert Murray (Bob) passed away peacefully at the Glendale Place Nursing & Rehab Center on March 25, 2016 at 96 years of age. Beloved husband of 22 years to Kathryn B. Murray and the late Sterling N. Murray for 48 years.  Loving father of Winifred S. Murray of Encino, CA and Charles (Melissa) Murray of Charlotte, NC. Stepfather of Robert (Bob) Lawley of Cincinnati, OH. Grandfather of Grace Murray of Washington D.C., Ruth Murray and husband Joe DiGiuseppe of Philadelphia, PA.  Step grandfather of Jackson Chamberlain of Denver, CO. and Olivia Lawley of Granville, IL. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Charles Murray of Middletown, OH and two brothers, Tom and David Murray also of Middletown, OH. Bob attended Middletown High School, Phillips Academy Andover and the University of Virginia. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and earned his wings as a Naval Aviator and served as a Flight Instructor.  After the war Bob worked for the Eli Lily Co., later the Randall Co. and the Philip Carey Co. Cincinnati, OH. When he retired he volunteered at Deaconess Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels. Memorial service will be held at Christ Church Glendale, 965 Forest Ave Glendale OH 45246, on April 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
