Robert Harrison

Robert W. Harrison, 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 25, 2011.Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York, Feb. 29, 1936. He received a BS and MS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Xavier University. Bob worked for Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, Conn and General Electric - Space Power Division in Evandale, Ohio. He was awarded 8 patents and was a Fellow of American Society of Metals. He also consulted for Oak Ridge National Laboratories in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.Bob was a devoted husband and father for over 50 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Greenhills, Ohio. He held the office of Elder, Treasurer, and taught Sunday school for 18 years. He also mentored students, worked in the Ohio State Science Fair, and enjoyed singing in the Delta Kings Chorus.He is survived by his wife, Lois Barbara (nee Hoth) Harrison, his three daughters, Beth Clements, Dawn (James) Barge and Cora (David) Bailey, and his 8 grandchildren, Philip, Jordan, Frieda, Paige, Adele, Amy, Cassandra and Eric. He will be greatly missed.Visitation will be at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Springdale Ohio. Memorial gifts may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 10416 Bossi Lane, Greenhills, OH 45218.
