Richard Arthur Holthaus

HOLTHAUS, Richard A. Beloved husband of 65 years to Jean (nee Esslinger) Holthaus. Devoted father of Kirk (Stacey) Holthaus, Scott Holthaus, Jill (Roger) Krebs, Randy (Denise) Holthaus, and Dean (Megan) Holthaus. Loving grandfather of Justin, Jeff, Sarah, and Ben Holthaus; Alex and Alison Krebs; Luke, Zachary, and Noah Holthaus; Jacob and Brooke Moore; and the late Scotty Holthaus. Great grandfather of 9. 

Richard was a 1954 graduate of Roger Bacon High School. He served in the Army from November 1954 to November 1956 and was a member of the Greenhills American Legion Post 530, where he volunteered his time as their finance director for many years. A great father, provider, and rock of his family; Richard also enjoyed golf and working out. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan, and loved driving all of his Ford and Mercury cars over many decades, and also really enjoyed having a BMW in his last few years. After retiring from Ford Motor Company after 35 years, Richard also volunteered his time with the Ford Retirees Association and also delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years.

Richard passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at age 88. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike,OH, 45246 from 9-11am. Mass of Eternal Rest will immediately follow at 11:30am at St. Gabriel Church, 48 West Sharon Rd., Glendale, OH 45246. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
