Raymond Earle Troeger died on February 4, 2017 at age 89 at Maple Knoll Village, Cincinnati. He was born in Summit, New Jersey on January 4, 1928 to Walter Troeger and Ethel Hansen, and grew up there with his older brother, Walter. He graduated from Columbia High School, South Orange in 1945 and began college before being drafted. He served in the U.S. Army in Pusan, Korea from 1947 to 1948. He returned to Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ and completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering (1951). He was an active member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Ray married Doris Ann Tarantino in 1957, and they moved to Cincinnati where he worked at General Electric’s aviation division. In retirement Ray and Doris traveled, enjoyed golf, bridge, ballroom dancing, and annual reunions with his fraternity brothers. They moved to Maple Knoll Village in 2009. Ray’s beloved wife of 59 years died on July 31, 2016. Ray is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, sister-in-law Vera Tarantino, and cousin Ethel Shannon. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 11 am in the Chapel on the Green at Maple Knoll Village.
