ARMY WWIIRay Arthur Miller, age 88, born in Carrollton, Ohio and long-time resident of Reading, Ohio. Beloved husband of 66 years to Edna Laura (nee Boone) Miller. Wonderful father of Cheryl Ann Miller Costa, Richard Lee (Debbee) Miller, and Rebecca Sue Miller (Brian) Wissler. Loving grandpa of Jerome III, Jennifer and Christopher Costa, Emily Costa Wendt, Jeremy, Chad, and Amy Miller, Heidi Wissler Miley, and Brian Keith Wisler, II. Loving great grandpa of Ryan and Will Costa, Ashleigh Heflin, Clarissa Miller, Hunter Miley, and Lillian and Emma Wissler. He was a WWII Army veteran who served in Okinawa, Japan.Ray passed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2009 at home surrounded by his immediate family. He is survived by a brother, Harold D. Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, and was preceded in death by his two sisters, Gladys and Dorothy. Ray leaves behind many wonderful family members and friends and will be sorely missed.Ray worked primarily in sales as he loved interacting with people. He retired from Nestle-Beich as a regional manager. During his working years he also served as Bishop of the Cincinnati Second Ward in Norwood, Ohio for his church for almost five years. After retiring, he and his wife, Edna, served a full-time couple mission at the Chicago, Illinois Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for three years and returned to Reading, Ohio afterwards. Ray went back to work and worked for Dillards's where he enjoyed his work and made many friends. He retired from Dillard's at the age of 87.Visitaion will be at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Road, Norwood, Ohio 45212 on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8250 Cornell Road, Sycamore Township, Ohio 45249 on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mt. Healthy, Ohio.Remembrances may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
