Pauline Cornett

Pauline Frances Cornett (née Kemper), aged 99, passed away peacefully at LifeCare Center of Medina on July 13, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. Born on December 15, 1924, Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. 

Pauline was the proud past owner of the House of Chili in Reading, Ohio. Her culinary skills were renowned, especially her chicken and dumplings, strawberry pies, and banana nut bread. In her earlier years, she loved to quilt and to putter in her garden, and she enjoyed playing games like Hen and Chickens or Dominoes. She was known for her competitive spirit in card games, always keen on a playful challenge. Mother cherished family gatherings, especially Christmas and eagerly anticipated visits from her loved ones and celebrated each new addition to the family. She was a member of the Lockland Christian Church in Lockland, Ohio. She loved God and looked forward to the day she walked in the garden with Him.

Pauline leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters Julia Diane Phelps (Fred) of Medina, Ohio, Karen Sue Fields (Dennis) of Evendale, Ohio, and Frances Gayle Waldmann (John) of Southern Shores, North Carolina; step-daughter-in-law Vonnie Cornett of Owenton, Kentucky; grandchildren Stephanie Wiener, Leslie Wiener, Kelly Drinan (Tom), Ryan Fields (Jenine), Erica Dillon (Tim), Jessica Waldmann, David Cornett (Jennifer), and Janice Cornett; and great-grandchildren Aislinn Drinan, Roxie Dillon, Alexa Dillon, Lily Waldmann, Michael Cornett, Wesley Cornett, and Chris Cornett. And 11 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husbands George Lester Cornett and Garnet Harney and step-son Billy L. Cornett.

A celebration of Life will be Saturday July 20, 2024 at 11AM at Lockland Christian Church, 231 Mill St., Lockland, OH 45215 with visitation starting at 10AM. Burial will be private.
