Paul Tompkins

Paul E. preceded in death by his wife Mildred K. Tompkins of 59 years; devoted father of Paula Tompkins and Dale Tompkins; cherished grandfather of Eric (Mary) Johnson, Brandi (Allen) Overby and Shayne (Jennifer) Hardy; great-grandfather of Noah Overby, Ella Johnson and baby girl Johnson; dear brother of Jerry (Jean) Tompkins, preceded in death by parents George and Iva Lee Tompkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the age of 85. Paul was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Fairview Baptist Church, Clifton. Paul served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant earning an Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and a Bronze Star Medal. He served in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service StaHg 3rd Infantry Division dtd and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. He also served in the Military Police. Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 10 AM until the time of the service at 12 Noon followed by Hoffner Masonic Lodge #258 F&A.M. and Scottish Rite Ring Service. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church 333 Warner St, Cincinnati OH 45219.
