Nell Gillman

Nell F. Gillman, 85, was called to her heavenly home on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25, 2021. Born in Belfry, Kentucky and a longtime resident of Norwood, Ohio, Nell was the beloved wife oft the late Chet Gillman. She was loving mother to Dan (Teri) Gillman. Dear grandmother to Katie Kallmerten (Karl) and Matt Gillman and proud great grandmother to Mila, Eva and Luka Kallmerten. Dear sister to Anna Rose, Linda Raschke and the late Joy Savage, Billy Morrison, Danny Morrison, Feddie Morrison, Donnie Morrison, and James Morrison. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

As a woman of strong faith, Nell was a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church where she enjoyed occasionally singing with the church choir. Nell also cherished her job at Aglamesis Brothers in Oakley, Ohio where she worked for over 30 years and into her 80’s. Known as the “fastest candy packer in town,” she lovingly referred to Aglamesis as her second family.

Nell was known for her quick-witted jokes, love of laughter and dancing and her beautiful Alto singing voice. She was also known for her strong devotion to family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the “apple of her eye.” Nell was happiest when she was with her family; never missing a birthday, a holiday or even a chance to have a jam session with her son and grandson.

Nell never met a stranger. She made friends with everyone she came in contact with and she welcomed everyone she met with open arms. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends may gather Friday, December 3, 2021 from 10:00 AM with time of services at 12 NOON at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Road, Norwood, Ohio 45212. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Rd. Cincinnati Ohio 45241.
