Nana Hoskins

HOSKINS, Nana Mae (nee Lester). Born April 29, 1938. Preceded in death by her husband, Owen Hoskins; her  parents, Thomas Lester & Tempa Lilly Lester; her brothers, George, Robert, Lewis, Marvin, David, Harless, and Claude Lester; and her sister, Naomi Ruth Lester Finley. Survived by five children; Sharon (Mike) Carpenter, Wilmer (Sheryl) Jones, Brenda McFadden, Michael Jones, and Della (Edward) Lehane. Also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one sister, Carol Lester Hayes; and many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Nana attended the Norwood Wesleyan Church for many years, and for a short time she attended New Bethel Baptist until her health would no longer allow. She was a mother and homemaker while her children were small. In time, she took a job at Kenner Toys and U.S. Playing Cards; from which she retired. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nana passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the age of 81 years.

Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH 45212 on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 4-6pm. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 10am until time of service at 11am. Burial will be private.

Nana Mae’s favorite motto and daily saying was the Serenity Prayer:
