Monte Chesko, Sr.

CHESKO, Monte Michael, Sr. Age 82. Died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Wellspring Retirement Center in Cincinnati, OH.  He was born on March 16, 1933, to the late Mary and Mike Chesko in Girard, PA.  Monte is a graduate of Rice Avenue Union High School, General Electric Apprentice Program, Gannon College, and received his MBA at Xavier University.  He is a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5674, GEER of Erie, PA, and GE Retiree Association of Cincinnati.  Most of Monte’s career was with General Electric.  His favorite pastime was golf.  Monte is survived by his wife, Irma, of 63 years, daughter Mary Jean Spegal (John) of Charlotte, NC, sons Monte Chesko, Jr (Kathy) and David Chesko (Isis), and daughter Karen Samoya (John) all of Loveland, OH, brother Ronald Chesko of Ashtabula, OH, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Chesko and Michael Chesko.  On Monday, December 28, 2015, a visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 17 Farragut Road, Greenhills, OH 45218. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510, Kansas City, MO 64114 or Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 17 Farragut Road, Cincinnati, OH 45218. Internment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Girard, PA at a later date.
