Martha Heath

HEATHMartha Louise (nee McCuaig), devoted wife of 61 years to the late Lester M. Heath; loving mother of Barbara (Richard) Page, Beverly (William) Baker, and the late Dr. R. Scott (Lynn) Heath; dear grandmother of Allison (Allen) Ginder, Leslie (Ben) Hattemer, Jason Scott (Renee) Heath, Benjamin (Noelle) Heath, Christopher Heath, Megan (Brad) Moore, and Matthew Page, and step-grandmother of Jenny, Bill, and Jeremy Baker; wonderful Great Grammy of nine great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. Graduate of Western College for Women, Oxford, OH and University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Library Science. After teaching Latin and English and being a high school librarian, she married and became a homemaker. Volunteer activities included Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA Treasurer, Literary Tutor, Bethesda Hospital volunteer, and Deacon at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for more than 50 years. She enjoyed bridge, golf, tennis, travel, and many, many friends. She died in her home at Evergreen Retirement Community, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at age 94. Memorial service will be held at Evergreen Auditorium, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 3:30 PM, followed by a reception with the family.
