Marilyn A. Johnston, born January 30, 1933 to the late Thomas and Lois (nee Lamar) Baysore, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2022. Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years Noble Johnston, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
In 1953, Baysore’s Flowers was started by Marilyn and her mother Lois in the basement of their home in Mason, Ohio. Their first store front was on East Main Street in Mason and the following year in 1957 moved to a new location on Second Street next to the Mason Post office and in the newly built Peoples Building Loan Building. In December 1960, 3 weeks before Christmas, Marilyn and the team moved Baysore’s Flower Shop across the street which was designed and built to Marilyn’s specifications. Marilyn retired in 1974 but Baysore’s Flower Shop has remained at the same location and continued operations in Mason, Ohio at 301 Reading Rd and serving the community that she loved.
