BROCK, Maria E. Devoted mother of Tony (Libby) Brock. Loving grandmother of Aiden, Lucy, and Ryan Brock. Beloved sister of the late Cecila Redman. Dear aunt of Ben and Charley Redman, and Trina Eiler.

Maria enjoyed travelling, the arts, and classical music. She passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at age 90.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Gabrial Catholic Church, 48 W Sharon Rd., Glendale, OH 45246.

”My mom passed away this past week.  She grew up in a time that we only read about in text books now.  She grew up during the German occupation of Poland during WWII.   She wrote her memories down a few years ago in a memoir and I was blown away about the stories and some of the horrors she witnessed at the age of 12.  My mom would escape the war torn Poland as it fell into the hands of the Russians.  She later received her nursing degree in France and would meet my father stationed in France after the war.  Her entire family came to the United States when she was a young woman.  My parents marriage would not last by the time I was 3 so she raised me predominantly as a single mom.  She was a nurse for 37 years at the University of Cincinnati.  For the longest time it was just the two of us and Libby and I are both only children.  She was Babcia (Polish for grandmother) to my 3 children.  We will miss her independent spirit and obviously our family is getting smaller.  Thank you taking the time to read this.”
