Marcella Ethel Denniston

Marcella Ethel “Marcy” Denniston (nee Guckiean) entered her eternal rest on November 28, 2023 at the age of 89. Marcy was born on November 18, 1934 as one of twelve children to the late Albert and Ethel (nee Farmer) Guckiean of Bellevue, KY. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Charles R. Denniston. Cherished Mama of Trina (Scott) Moore and Lori (Rob) Wantlin. Loving Grandma of Sarah (David) Albanese and Paige Wantlin; Great Grandma of Baby Albanese arriving in the spring. Sweet sister of her late siblings: Al Guckiean, LaVerne Hust, Billy, Harold, George, Rob, and Rose Ann Guckiean and her surviving siblings: Ralph (Joan) Guckiean, June Rice, Mary (Jim) Walsh, and Carol (Tom)White. Also survived by her brother-in-law Ronnie (Penny) Denniston and the late Paul Denniston and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Marcy was a woman of faith who loved with all her heart. She never knew a stranger and cared deeply for others. She was active in her community, having served on the Lockland PTA as president, a proud Lockland Music Program Booster, Arlington Hts. Village Council, St. John UCC Church Council, her local community board and the order of the Eastern Stars. She loved serving others with her work at Small’s Pro Hardware in Lockland. She was a woman of strong conviction, compassion, care, and hugs! She could light up a room with the sparkle in her eyes and the light in her soul—she WAS a people person! She will be sadly missed but we are joyful of her reunion in heaven with Christ, her loving husband and all of her loved ones.

Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, OH 45246 on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 4 to 7pm. Dorcas Chapter #277 Order of the Eastern Star will be included. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 am in the chapel at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
