CURTSINGERMabel Ellen (nee Herren), beloved wife of the late J.C. Curtsinger. Passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010. Aunt Babe to her nieces and nephews, she will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends. Very few women born in 1914 have earned a college degree and fewer still majored in mathematics. Mabel Curtsinger did both and earned her teaching degree at the Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College - now Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. She was a teacher at the Rush Branch School in Bradfordsville, Kentucky, known by her students as Miss Mabel, until she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband J.C. to raise a family. She lived in Arlington Heights raising five children and helping her husband run his business. She was a resident there until moving to Mason Christian Village in 2004. A lifelong member of Lockland Christian Church, she was a very active volunteer getting involved in every facet of the church and its activities. Mabel loved to cook and sew and often made items for her friends and family, but her biggest pleasure came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It is difficult to adequately describe what a loving and caring person she was. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will be at Lockland Christian Church, Mill & Patterson Sts., Lockland, OH 45215, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 11:30 AM until time of funeral service at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the American Bible Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Lockland Christian Church.
