M. Seymour

Joyce Seymour, of Cincinnati, passed away on September 30, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born in St. Joseph, Michigan to Bert and Lucy Johnson. She received her degree in music education from Michigan State College, and taught music in the Lakeview Public Schools in Battle Creek, Michigan. She married Bill Seymour in 1947 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage before his death in 2009. She is preceded in death by their beloved son Daniel Seymour.

Joyce loved classical music and live theater, and was active in her church choir. She traveled to Eastern Europe on two musical ministry trips. She also enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and following Cincinnati sports teams. Bill and Joyce were very active in the Maple Knoll community since moving there in 2000.

Joyce is survived by sister-in-law Fran Seymour, of Franklin, TN, and brother-in-law Roger Seymour, of Battle Creek, MI, as well as five nieces and their families.

A memorial service will be held at the Maple Knoll Village Chapel, 11100 Springfield Pike, Springdale, OH on Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, or the Future Care Fund at Maple Knoll.
