Lois Luessen (nee Lichtenberg), passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, at the age of 101. She resided at Maple Knoll Village in Springdale, Ohio.
Born on September 11, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lois was the daughter of George A. (Gustav) Lichtenberg and Alma C. Lichtenberg (nee Leber). She grew up in Wyoming, Ohio, and graduated from Wyoming High School in 1940. Lois also graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Education. Lois embarked on a career in market research at Proctor and Gamble and later she served as a case worker for the Hamilton County Welfare Department. She also worked as a secretary in the Duke University Psychology Department and upon returning to Cincinnati at the Emmanuel Community Center. Retiring from the workforce, Lois became an active member of the Cincinnati Women’s Club.
In 1950, Lois met her husband Ezra A. Luessen on a blind date and they married later that year.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, parents, and a brother, Paul A. Lichtenberg. She is survived by her son, Eric Luessen and daughter-in-law Donna Luessen. She was the loving grandmother of granddaughter, Lauren Testerman (Adam) and grandson Ryan Luessen. Lois cherished her three great-grandchildren, Camden, Colton and Cohen Testerman.
Friends may visit with the family at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springdale Pike, Springdale OH 45246 on Saturday, January 20, 2023 from 11:30 am – 12:00 pm and the service immediately following the visitation.
