(Joyice) Jones. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the age of 96 years. Funeral service at Friendship United Methodist Church, 1025 Springfield Pike, Wyoming on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM.Lindsey Guest Jones was born on May 9, 1916 in Augusta, Georgia to parents Emma Maude Jones and Warren Rogers Jones. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Vulcan from 1941-1945. Lindsey married the love of his life, Aileen Turner, on April 3, 1948 in Concord, NC and was happily married for over 53 years before her passing in 2001.He was employed by General Motors, Oldsmobile Division for 25 years.
