Kenneth Anderson

d. April 29, 2014

Kenneth Anderson was born on March 30, 1940 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Geneva (Seymour) Anderson and Kenneth Virgil Anderson. Following graduation from Chillicothe High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965. On July 16, 1967 he married the love of his life, Loretta Salyers, and God blessed their union for forty-six years and nine months. On July 1, 2007, Ken retired from Rock Tenn where he had been a forklift driver. He accepted Jesus as his personal savior at New Haven Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church until his death. He had previously served as a janitor and assistant Sunday school teacher. Ken was truly a blessing to everyone who knew him. God called him home on April 29, 2014 at the age of 74. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta (nee Salyers) Anderson; sister, Williadine (Johnny) Eblin; brother, Keith (Karen) Anderson; brothers-in-law, Keith Salyers and Junior (Melissa) Cochenour and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Detty and Bernadine Kenard and brothers-in-law, David Detty and Jim Kenard.
Ken and Loretta never had any children of their own, but in 1980 they were blessed to meet Brenda Harkins who became a daughter to them. Out of that union came a son-in-law, Paul Harkins; two grandchildren, Tanya and the late Paul David Harkins, and six great grandchildren.
A visitation will take place at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 4545 Forest Ave., Norwood on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00 PM until the time of funeral service at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Chillicothe, Ohio at 12:00 NOON. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or to Hospice of Cincinnati.
