FERGUSON Juanita B., born in Barberton, Ohio on August 31, 1915 to the late Mark and Florence (Bishop) Bowen. She had two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth, and one sister, Lucille Morehead, who preceded her in death. She attended Barberton High School and graduated as salutatorian in 1933. She also received a Certificate of Graduation in Business Management from the LaSalle University. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour in 1933 shortly after graduating from high school. She was employed by The Sun Rubber Company in Barberton, Ohio for sixteen years as a secretary and administrative assistant. It was there that she met her late husband, Roland, to whom she was married for nearly sixty years. She was also employed as parish secretary for St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Barberton for eight years. In January of 1967, she began another career at Mount Vernon Nazarene College. She was the third person hired to assist in establishing the institution. She worked at the college for thirty years with the primary position of Director of Personnel Records and Special Accounts. During this time, she and her husband traveled for the college for eight years in estate planning. In 1997 she and her husband moved to Fairfield, Ohio to live with her daughter, Beverly, and her family. She had an income tax business with many clients before she moved to Fairfield. She was always active in the churches she attended, holding positions as Sunday School teacher, board member, church treasurer, Young People's President, Missionary President, and District Secretary to the NYPS and WFMS. She was also active in her children's school, holding the position of PTA president. At the college, she was treasurer for many years of the Women's Auxiliary.She was the devoted mother of Beverly (Truman Goodwin) Nutter and Richard Ferguson; dear grandmother of Brenna (Rocky) Alderman and Richele (Doug) Nealeigh, and step-grandmother of Heidi (Terance) Thomas; cherished great grandmother of Aubree Nutter, Reaghan Nealeigh, Rylee Nealeigh, Graycen Alderman, Quinnlyn Alderman, and Charlotte Alderman, and step-great grandmother of Amber Thomas; also survived by her buddy, Jesse, a Bichon Frise dog. Passed away on March 21, 2013 at the age of 97. Visitation will take place at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 6-8PM. Visitation will also be held at Springdale Church of the Nazarene, 11177 Springfield Pike on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.
