Juanita Cheatham

d. July 24, 2015

Juanita Faith Turner Cheatham
aka: "Rita" "Mater"
Rita was born on June 4, 1924 in Anson, Texas to parents, Forrest Albert Turner and Matilda Oliver Womack Turner. On July 24, 2015 at 11:00 pm , Rita passed from this life for her heavenly home.
In her early eighties Rita was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. She began forgetting small things. She could still speak up in a Bible class and present helpful scriptures. She knew who we were and would ask about different family members and friends even to the end of her life. In the last few weeks of her life, the Alzheimer's disease made itself known by infecting her with aspiration pneumonia which resulted in her death.
Rita had just celebrated her 72nd anniversary with the love of her life, Warren Ray Cheatham. They had married during WW II in Los Gatos, California and made their home in California for many years. Ohio and Illinois were also places they called home over the years. They moved to Texas and settled there for 35 years. In 2008, they moved back to Cincinnati, Ohio where they have lived to the present. Rita passed in her home at Wellspring/Evergreen Retirement surrounded by loved ones.
Rita was a preacher's wife most of her life, a skilled Bible teacher and a gracious hostess. She was a proud DAR (Daughter of the American Revolution) and portrayed Southern charm in all she did.
Rita is survived by her husband, Warren Ray Cheatham of Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, DeAnn Cheatham Dodd of Cincinnati, Ohio, Deborah Cheatham Norsworthy of Hurst, Texas and Dawn Cheatham Norvell of Wewoka, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Friends may gather at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246 on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 7 PM.

On August 4, 2015 there will be a Celebration of Rita's Life open house at the mansion in the Evergreen Retirement Community from 1 PM to 2PM.

Interment will be private in Dallas Fort Worth Cemetery.
