Joyce Hagedorn

HAGEDORNJoyce Ardith (nee Wichman), died December 2, 2011. Is survived by Wallace "Wally", loving husband of 65 years. Born on July 27, 1924 in Cincinnati. Graduated from Lockland High School. Joyce was an alumnus of Miami University class of 1945, where she endowed a scholarship for Elementary Education students. She taught third grade at Reading Central Community School for 42 years. Joyce loved to travel, and with her husband she visited all fifty states and many foreign countries. She was very interested in horse racing and liked to go to the track as long as she was able. When younger, she played a lot of tennis. Surviving family are cousin Gloria Burton, Daniel Burton, Debbie (Steve) Smith and son Ryan, Dean Montayne (son of the late Dolores Montayne), sister-in-law Pauline Twidale, Andrew Twidale, Robin (John) Libert and daughter Maggie, Jackie (Michael) Minges (daughters of the late Flora Jane Kidwell) and son Bryan. Funeral will be at Cedars of Lebanon Chapel, Spring Grove Cemetery at 1:30 PM, Monday, December 5, 2011. Visitation will follow.
