Joyce Bridgeford

BRIDGEFORD, Joyce (nee Jennings). Beloved wife of the late Jerome "Jerry" Bridgeford for 65 years. Devoted mother of Cathy (Mark) Greensfelder, Susan Cummings, Alan (Amy) Bridgeford, Mary Bridgeford, and Beth (Rex) Droese. Loving grandmother of Michael, Megan, Jon, Eric, Hannah, Olivia, and Koen. Great grandmother of Kaila, Ben, and Gwen. Dear sister of the late Charlotte, Shirley, and Tommy.

Joyce led a joyous, loving, and adventurous life. She was born on August 14, 1930 in Cottondale, Alabama to Clarence and Evie Lee (nee Pearson) Jennings. In her twenties, Joyce obtained her pilot’s license and on May 31, 1952 she married the love of her life, Jerry Bridgeford in Dothan, Alabama. Joyce was very involved and active in her community; volunteering for Meals on Wheels for 25 years, starting an investment group for women in her seventies, and was a member of the Forest Park Women’s Club for over 50 years where she served as president multiple times. She was a hard working mother of five, a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and a skilled seamstress who taught many of her children how to sew. Together with her husband Jerry, the family took many memorable trips in the family station wagon taking their pop up camper to sites all over the country. Joyce was also an avid golfer, gardener, and enjoyed playing Bridge.

Joyce passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 91 years.

Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 17 Farragut Ave., Greenhills, OH 45218 at 12 Noon.

Burial will be private.
