Jose Villanueva Enriquez, passed peacefully on April 20, 2021. He was born May 19, 1940 in Manila, Philippines to Deogracias and Gabina Enriquez who preceded him in death. His loving wife of 52 years, Jessica Enriquez passed away in December 2020. They met in California being set up by family and married shortly thereafter. He is also survived by his children Michelle (Kevin) Stahl, JoAnne (Bill) Morrissey, Linda (Eric) Hoeffel, and Joe (Cicely) Enriquez; and eight grandchildren, Gabbie Stahl, Eric Hoeffel, JJ Hoeffel, Nico Stahl, Joey Enriquez, Sofia Morrissey, Marin Morrissey, and Izzy Enriquez.
He honorably served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. He became a US Citizen following this service.
Jose was an engineer in the Cincinnati area for over 40 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in the Philippines from Mapua Institute of Technology. In 1971 both Jose and his wife Jessica were honored to be named Kentucky Colonels. He loved his work but loved to spend his free time cooking, fishing, and spending time with grandkids.
He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Christopher, and sister, Mila Decastro.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He would be trying to make everyone laugh at his jokes while enjoying a scotch and cooking for us.
There will be a visitation beginning at 9:30 am followed by a Mass at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1680 Dixie Hwy, Fort Wright, KY 41011. Procession to St. Mary’s Cemetery and internment to follow.
