John, beloved husband of the late Betty Jean Whitaker (nee Wilson); devoted father of April Tarter, Barbara Kutil, and Rev. John W. Whitaker of Albertville, AL; loving grandfather of Adam Tarter, Kara Sicking, Jason and Jared Whitaker, Hannah Pruitt, and the late Wesley Tarter; great grandfather of J.T. Pruitt, and Ryan and Weston Whitaker; dear brother of Judy Vandergriff. October 13, 2014. Age 85. Resident of Springdale. Visitation will be at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 TONIGHT, Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Additional visitation will be at Tri-County Baptist Church, 8195 Beckett Rd., West Chester, OH 45069 on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 10 AM til time of service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Tri-County Baptist Church or Hospice of Cincinnati.
