John Hinks

HINKS, John Geoffrey Ditom, 92, passed away on February 10, 2021. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Lucie (nee Tetzlaff) Hinks; his daughter, Pamela (Gregg) Kamp; grandchildren, Geoff Nardone, Brian Kamp, and Julia Kamp. John is preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Sibley and his daughter, Deborah Nardone.

Born to the late Geoffrey and Doris Hinks in Yeovil, England; John emigrated to the US in 1952, settling in Detroit, MI. He worked at various positions with General Motors for 38 years, most of which were as a design engineer with Fisher Body in Warren, MI. After retiring, he and Lucie moved to Brevard, NC where they lived for 30 happy years prior to their move in 2020 to Cincinnati, OH. John was an avid gardener and also enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and travelling.

The family will have a private memorial.
