James Proffitt

PROFFITTJames Avery "Ace", age 64, of Reading, OH passed away on August 2, 2011. He is a son of the late James Perry and Matilda Mae (Brock) Proffitt. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joyce (Walker) Proffitt, daughter, Jennifer (Andy) Robins, and son, Jason (Jessica) Proffitt. "Pappaw" will be missed by his three grandsons, Daniel, Dustin, and Dalton Robins, and three step-grandchildren, Cierra, Ashley, and Matthew Toledo. He is also survived by his siblings, Orville (Marilyn) Proffitt of Jonesborough, TN, Lee (Jim) Rolman of Mason, OH, Ken (Patty) Proffitt of Alderson, WV, and Audrey (Dave) Farmer of Reading, OH. Preceded in death by one sister, Edrie Proffitt. "Uncle Ace" will be missed by many nieces and nephews, Aunt Opal (late Joe) Parrish, and many friends and neighbors. Retired from General Motors SPO of Sharonville, OH after 36 years, served as Shop Chairman for UAW Local 674. Served as Councilman in the City of Reading. Member of Sons of the American Revolution. Coached baseball and soccer. Enjoyed genealogy. Visitation will be at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 310 Dunn St., Lockland on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon.
