AKERS, James R., beloved husband of Gladys Akers; devoted father of Marcus Ray Akers; loving grandfather of Grace, Nathan, Eric, and Lucas Akers and Anabel Carr; dear brother of Geraldine (Milton) Vanderpool, Irene (Jim) Elrod, Barb (Aaron) Wolf, Taylor Weiss, Evelyn Sweeney, Christine Goodman, and the late Willie Weiss, Bill Weiss, Devonda Akers, and Arke Akers. Preceded in death by his parents, Hilliard and Lilly Akers. March 12, 2014. Age 75. Visitation will be at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale on Sunday from 2-4 PM. Funeral service will be at the funeral home Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
