HACKMAN, Isabelle A. (nee Walsh). Passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Isabelle was an avid reader, which led to her passion for teaching. She was a tremendous believer of being of service to people and a great supporter of the arts. Known as Libby to family and friends, she devoted much time to needy causes most notably shut ins and isolated elderly. Isabelle was very involved with her church and felt called to foster a number of children through Catholic Charities. Sharp of mind, quick of wit, Isabelle endeared herself to others around her.Born to Paul and Clara Walsh, in Danbury CT, Isabelle was the older of two children. She and her sister Maryann spent summers working on Cape Cod. Maryann would often lament that Libby’s love of reading left her to do all the work. For Libby Cape Cod would always be a magical place because that’s where she met her husband John. John and Isabelle spent 40 years together until John passed away in 2000. They had one daughter Mary Clare. Isabelle is survived by her sister Mary Ann Hauck; her daughter Clare (Mary) Davey; grandchildren Chris, Matt and Kate Davey; niece Mary Beth (Bruno) Kaelin and nephew Paul (Cindy) Hauck. Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 48 W Sharon Rd., Glendale, OH 45246 on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 10:00 AM until Mass of Eternal Rest at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Old Cemetery. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley http://www.hov.org/donate/donate-now/
