COPELIN, Howard L. Sr., 84. Passed away peacefully on October 4, 2015. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Fontaine Hunt Frantz Copelin; sons Howard Jr., David and Gary and step-daughters Marne (Carl) Kappes, Fontaine Swope (Robin) Hood and Cary (Craig) Ryan. His son Raymond preceded him in death. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was an alumnus of Withrow High School and served in the Air Force. He began his career with the Lindner family companies working first with United Dairy Farmers then Hunter Savings and Loan and retired as a Vice President in the appraisal department of Provident Bank after 35 plus years of service. He served many years as a District Governor for the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. Howard was a 32nd degree, Scottish Rite Mason and a faithful member of Norwood Masonic Lodge No. 576. During his working years and into retirement, he enjoyed playing tennis, working out, traveling with friends and family and giving his wife Fontaine “first of the month” gifts every month. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal service. His ashes will be scattered along his favorite beach on Hilton Head Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cincinnati’s Shriners Hospitals for Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org or Norwood Masonic Lodge #576 in Norwood, Ohio.
