DOUGLAS, Herman Lee. Beloved husband of the late Orvine (nee Byrd) Douglas. Devoted father of Michael (Diane) Douglas, Jeffrey Douglas, and Craig (Joy) Douglas. Cherished grandfather of Sara (Chad) Lehew, Caitlin Douglas, Cpl. Sean Douglas, US Army Reserve, Allison Douglas, Kelsey Douglas, Haley Douglas, Shane Douglas, and William Douglas. Great grandfather of Connor and Reese Lehew. Dear brother of Kathleen Newman, Georgia Holley, and the late siblings; Ethel Goodwin, Earl Douglas, Aubrey Douglas, Arthur Douglas & Jack Douglas. Herman was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Herman was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran who served in WWII in the South Pacific, including Iwo Jima. He was also a proud retiree of Adkins and Pierce Manufacturing, where he worked for 43 years. Herman was born in Rockholds, Kentucky and was a life long fan of University of Kentucky basketball. He was also an active member of the South Norwood Church of Christ. Herman passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at age 93 years. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12 Noon on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH 45212. Burial with military honors, will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
