BIRKOFERGary J., beloved husband of Phillis "Lisa" Birkofer (nee Lay); devoted father of Amy (the late Dan) Dixon, Alyssa Kelley Birkofer, and Marci (Jeff) Turner; loving grandfather of Richard Dustin Birkofer, Lauren Dakota, and Patrick Dillon Dixon, Alexandria Barnes-Birkofer, Brady Barnes, Zachary Hatfield-Birkofer, and Brendon, Laren, and Emma Turner; son of the late Ralph and Cecilia (nee Rowan) Birkofer, Sr.; dear brother of Roger (Hazel) and Kenneth Birkofer, and the late Ralph, Jr. (Beverly), James (Phyllis), Alan (Louise), and Dennis (Theresa) Birkofer; brother-in-law of Norma (Greg) Baute, Ray (Tina) Lay, Jane Scheppe, Lydia (Don) Benz, Pamela Lay, Kyle (Diane Asbury) Jones and the late Peggy Perro; loving uncle to many nieces and nepehws; lifelong friend of Jim McKiernan. Gary retired from G.E. Aviation in Evendale, OH after 37 years of service. October 10, 2013. Age 68. A memorial gathering will be held at G.E.U.A.W. Local 647, 10020 Reading Rd., Evendale, OH 45241 on Friday, October 18, 2013 from 6-10 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund.
