WAGNERFrank J., 83 years old, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 10, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Catherine Feeley Wagner, and their children, Catherine, Frank, Mary Clare (Mike) Kull, and Monica (Dennis) Runyan, as well as his sisters, Frances Huber and Joan McGonigle, both of Kansas City, Missouri. He was the proud grandfather of Emily Back, Caroline, Lucy, Eileen, and Annie Kate Kull, and Frank Wagner III. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent and his sister, Mary Nelson, both of Kansas City. Frank Wagner was born in Kansas City, Misssouri in 1928 where he attended Rockhurst High School, and graduated from Rockhurst College with a B.S. in mathematics. He then received a Masters in Science from St. Louis University a year later. Frank taught for a year at Creighton University before entering the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Ph.D. in mathematics in 1954. Following his graduation from Notre Dame, Frank served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. From 1957 to 1961, Frank taught mathematics at Marquette University in Milwaukee. In 1959 he married Catherine Feeley, whom he had met at Notre Dame while they were students there. Frank taught mathematice at the University of Cincinnati from 1961 until his retirement in 1997. Frank will long be remembered for his wit, his wisdom, his faith, and his devotion to his family. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood. Memorial Mass will be Tuesday morning, June 14, 2011 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 5935 Pandora Ave., Pleasant Ridge. Since he was a parishioner there for over 50 years, it would be Frank's wish that in lieu of flowers, gifts should be made to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Cincinnati.
