Frank X. Murphy
June 4, 1920 - June 25, 2014

Frank X Murphy was born to Tom and Agnes (Flaherty) Murphy, June 4, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York. He has one brother, Brother Thomas H. Murphy C. F. X. of the Xaverian Brothers, and had two sisters, Lucille Catherine ( Patsy) Murphy, and Agnes (Babe) O'Brien who preceded him in death.
Growing up in Brooklyn, he and his cousin Georgie Fearon played stick ball on the streets and climbed the fence at Ebbetts Field to watch the Dodgers, swam in the East River and played at Coney Island. He delivered newspapers and Western Union telegrams on his bike.
He attended two years at St Francis Prep and danced in Prospect Park with his wife to be, Mollie. After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, he joined the Army, and married Mary Duffy(Mollie). While on training maneuvers he was injured, his unit shipped out and were all killed in battle. Frank was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as an MP transferring prisoners across the country.
When the war ended he drove trucks, a city bus, until he found a job in a shoe factory, cleaning up and apprenticing. He worked in New York, Boston, Maine, Pennsylvania and Tennessee as a shoe pattern maker and came to Cincinnati U.S.Shoe where he became a manager and developed the CAD-CAM and water jet cutting areas. He retired from U.S.Shoe and joined Belcan Logic developing water jets. He then volunteered at Jewish Hospital and worked the front desk in Kenwood.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Norwood, and ushered every Sunday until his health prohibited it..
Then he watched golf (instead of playing it). NCIS, CNN, and the Lawrence Welk Show. He enjoyed sitting on the porch in the sun and watching the world go by.
After Mollie passed away, he married Bonnie Schadle and for 25 years they lived and loved and cared for their families who will sadly miss him:
