Edward Carr

Carr, Edward J. III, Husband of the late Julianne (Kushner) Carr and the late Helen M. (Blum) Carr, died February 24, 2017 at the age of 86. He is survived by his daughters Katherine DeSmidt (Kenneth), Susan Clooney (Brian), Amy Carr, and son Benet S. Carr. He is also survived by his step-daughter DeeDee Deremo (John) and his step-son Scott Hettesheimer (Ginger), and his grandchildren John and Erik DeSmidt, Loren Fox, Michaela Carr, Brian (Anne), Maggie and Carly Deremo and Sarah and Holly Hettesheimer. Brother of the late Virginia Zoller (Ed) and Mary Elizabeth Timmers (Robert).  Ed graduated from Hughes High School in 1948 and received a degree in Industrial Management from the University of Illinois.  He was commissioned in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at The Engineer Officer Candidate School, Ft. Belvoir, VA, and served in the Korean War.  He retired in 1995 after 37 years as an agent for the State Farm Insurance Companies.  Private Interment will take place in Arlington Memorial Gardens.  Memorials, if desired, may be sent to the Cincinnati Museum Center, Union Terminal, 1301 Western Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203 or The National D-Day Museum, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA, 70130, or charity of your choice.
