Edsel Pugh

PUGHEdsel F., Pastor Emeritus. Devoted husband for 65 years to Ann Pugh (nee Fox), loving father of Mark (Peg) Pugh, Fleet Fangman, and Martha Ryland (Ted) Koppenhoefer. Loving grandfather to Lara and Melissa Koppenhoefer. Passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 He had a BA Degree from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA and BD Degree from Lexington Theological Seminary, Lexington, KY. He was ordained as a minister in 1946 and held pastorals in Bluefield, VA, and in Ohio; Dayton, Ashtabula and Cincinnati. Rev. Pugh was instrumental in leading three of his churches through successful relocation and building programs. In addition to dedicated service to each of his congregations, he was known for denominational, ecumenical, and community involvement as well. It was in Cincinnati where he retired in 1988 after having served as pastor of Norwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for twenty-one years. Visitation is at Norwood Christian Church, 4400 Ashland Avenue, Norwood, OH 45212 on Friday June 15, 2012 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon. Memorials to Norwood Christian Church.
