UNITED STATES NAVY VETERAN
MANNING, Dormas Clay "Jack". Beloved husband of 74 years to Beatrice (nee Fricke) Manning. Entered into his eternal life on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Jack was born in Pine Knot, KY on December 5, 1919. He married Beatrice Fricke on December 12, 1942 and they made their home in Greenhills, OH for the next 74 years. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Ethel (nee Bell) Manning; brothers, Norris, Samuel & Jim Manning, Edwin & Randolph Morgan; sisters, Emma Jones & Inez Oyler. Survived by his wife, Beatrice; son, Denny (Wilda) Manning; and daughter, Elayne (Bruce) Young; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tara) Young, Brandon (Julie) Young, and Lydia Manning PhD; seven great grandchildren; and a host of friends, family, and special caregivers. Jack retired from Proctor & Gamble and was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Ruben James. He served as a Greenhills City Councilman, Greenhills Fire Department volunteer, member of the Greenhills Community Presbyterian Church, HSJ-CH Masonic Lodge, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Hanselmann Commandery #16. Friends may greet the family at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Chapel, 2145 Compton Rd., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231 on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of services beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Cincinnati Chapter, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
