Donald Watson

Don Watson, age 94, of Ellenton, Florida, passed away on January 24, 2024. He was born on November 1, 1929, in Bethel, Ohio. He and Jean moved from Norwood, Ohio to Ellenton, Florida in 2019. Don is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean, of 76 years. He has 4 children: Steve and his wife, Kay; Paul and his wife, Patricia; Jana and her husband, Ken; and Rusty and his wife, Kim. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. 

Don had the blessing of being raised in a home that went to church on a regular basis. From childhood, he and his parent would walk to the Norwood Baptist Church. This was the same church in which he brought up his own family. From childhood until that date he moved to Florida, he served faithfully in that church in numerous capacities. He served as a deacon and had a special delight in ministering to the shut-ins in that church. Don enjoyed a long career in the automotive industry. He worked for the Ford Motor Company and Budget Rent-A-Car. He also had a time of working for Taylor Tot, a stroller company. 

Family will receive guests on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH 45212 from 9am until time of service at 9:30am. Don will be laid to rest in Arlington Memorial Gardens.
