Connie Smiley

Smiley, Connie L. (nee Broughton); pre-deceased by her parents, Vilma (nee Stappe) & Gerald Broughton; passed away on August 6, 2019, at the age of 85. Wife of the late Doug Smiley. Loving mother of Shelly Hutchinson, Candace Wittig, & Mark Wittig (Janice). Loving stepmother of Doug Jr. (Mary Ellen) Smiley, & Suzanne Smiley. Grandmother of Lynn (Ron) DeLong, & Sarah (James) Wakeley. Step grandmother of Chrissy Smiley & Rory McDuff. Great grandmother of Iria Holecek. Connie was a teacher in the Princeton School District, after she retired she worked for the Cincinnati Zoo Botanical Garden (CZBG) Outreach Program. Following her stroke, she retired from the zoo, & continued volunteering there & in the Maple Knoll Senior Community until the end of her life. Connie was an animal lover & ambassador to the zoo. She went on African Safaris, & leaves behind a multitude of loving friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at Maple Knoll at 4pm.

A celebration of life will be held at Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church, 11565 Pippin Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231 on August 29th at 11am.
