Clyde Bernard Kitchens Jr, 94, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Born in Monroe, Louisiana on August 26, 1928, he was the son of Clyde B. and Pennie Kitchens. He was the loving husband of Sally (Walker) Kitchens, whom he married on March 4, 1951. Together they shared 65 years of marriage until her passing on July 22, 2016.
After graduating from Homer High School, Bernard attended Texas A&M University where he played the clarinet in the marching band and earned a degree in business. He worked for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati for over 30 years.
Bernard was a man of faith and loved talking about Jesus and the Bible. He taught Sunday School for many years and later helped the chaplains at Maple Knoll, after becoming a resident there. He enjoyed traveling the world with Sally in his retirement years, including visits to his children and grandchildren across the country. He was a devoted family man. He is survived by 3 of his daughters, Karen Murchison (Bill), Julia Lim (Ed) and Katherine Millen (Greg). He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Pennie Witcher (Tim). He was a loving grandfather to 21 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 22 great-grandchildren.
