PFEFFER, Charles A. Age 82. Passed away August 5, 2017. Born July 6, 1935 at Russellville, Ohio to the late Andrew and Sue Pfeffer. Survived by sister Bonnie Murphy, niece Amy Schadle, nephews, Jim (Laura) Schadle, and Gail (Kim) Schadle, 8 grand nieces and nephews, and 5 great grand nieces and nephews, brother in law Michael (Kim) Stanfill, step children Sandy (Ron) Stephens, Greg (Roxanne) Hoffman, step grandchildren Adam (Suzanne) Stephens, Brad(Jenna)Hoffman, Ryan and Chase Hoffman, step great grandchildren Cecelia, Jordan, Easton and Carson. Preceded in death by wife Jan, stepson Mark Hoffman, brother in law Frank Murphy, niece Evelyn Jo Schadle, nephew David(Shirley)Schadle, grandniece Nicolle(Mike) Cape. Grew up on a dairy farm at Red Oak, grade school at St Michaels, graduated from Ripley High School. He worked and retired from Ford Motor Company. Was in Air Force and entertained his barracks with made up letters from home. After retiring he made and sold custom clocks, sports memorabilia, and sports cards. He was a 300 bowler. He and his wife Jan were avid UK fans and ran a “Cat Trackers” bus to all the games. Their life and home was filled blue and white. With a Pepsi during the day and a drink in hand he joked, kidded, and entertained, even in his alhzimers unit. He loved to travel in Europe and United States to historical places or anywhere country or blue grass was playing. He was a loving son, brother, husband, uncle and stepfather, grandfather, great grandfather.He was a good friend and never knew a stranger. I know he is up there in a laid back chair, watching the “Cats” and eating that beloved big bowl of ice cream. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Michael Church Hall, 16 N 4th St., Ripley, OH 45167 at 9:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Cincinnati Chapter, 644 Linn St, Cincinnati, OH 45203 or to Red Oak Cemetery Fund.
