Burnetta C. Koenig, age 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 at West Chester Hospital in West Chester Township, Ohio. Burnetta was born on June 14th, 1923 the cherished, only child born to Frank A. Jr. and Antoinette B. (Nettie) (Darlinghaus) Koenig and grew up in Cincinnati (Carthage). Burnetta happily and independently lived her final years at Maple Knoll Village after retiring from decades of working at 5th/3rd Bank lastly as a safe-deposit-clerk. She took great pride in the fact that her favorite boss, upon being promoted, requested that she be transferred to his department. She said if she had to do it all over, she would be a forensic scientist and especially enjoyed the show The Forensic Files. She loved circle puzzles, reading, The Reds, Tom & Jerry and Manhattans; and in her younger days, tropical travels. She was sweet and feisty, kind and mischievous. She preferred peace and quiet, but enjoyed Maple Knoll’s Wine & Words and visits with family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, aunts, uncles and Beatrice W. Kahles (John), Adele Wiesmann and Ruth Wiesmann- cousins who were more like sisters, and survived by Beatrice’s 7 children and their families who were more like nieces and nephews. She has cousins on her father’s side too and will be missed by her friends and the dedicated employees both past and present who made her life fun and comfortable at Maple Knoll.
Her funeral mass will be held at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church at 48 W. Sharon Rd., Cin. OH on Monday, March 29th, at 9:30 am, to be followed directly after by her internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd., Cin. OH.
